I’m too young for Woodstock although I sometimes think another version of me was incarnated then... Anyway, “Follow” spoke to my soul and transcends age (time) as I’m sure it would for so many. I have much more listening to do by Havens and I thank you for this beautiful piece you’ve written here. You gave me a glimpse into the man and not just the voice.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12175023854326283129noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1360310613917048642.post-81836245720143839202017-04-24T15:44:35.895-07:002017-04-24T15:44:35.895-07:00Born 1951. I've just been listening nonstop to Mixed Bag for the past 2+ days and fallen in love with Follow all over again. I was a later and pretend hippie, as a pot habit and baggie clothes were my only qualifiers, although I did March in the mpls-st Paul national Moratorium March. Thx againAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07141471564423521986noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1360310613917048642.post-70198514153149764332016-06-21T13:51:38.666-07:002016-06-21T13:51:38.666-07:00Thanks for yr excellent thoughts here. I've worked since I was 14, raised 2 children and have 3 grandchildren. I'm now now a proud supporter of Bernie, the George McGovern of this day. He had a lulling and comforting affect in his gentler songs....like "Follow".
Richie Havens was a gentle man as could be heard in many of his songs.
I am happy to have shared his music with my children !

Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1360310613917048642.post-28769704741025256032013-07-02T09:34:49.315-07:002013-07-02T09:34:49.315-07:00Beautiful.
